Biography

JK Rowling (1965) is a British writer, author of the "Harry Potter" saga, which won over young audiences and sold millions of copies. JK Rowling was born in Yate, England, on July 31, 1965. The daughter of Peter Jolin Rowling and Anne Volant spent her childhood in the city of Chepstow. His parents liked to read and his house was full of books. Since I was a child I wanted to be a writer. He wrote his first fiction book at the age of six: "The Story of a Rabbit Called a Rabbit". JK Rowling studied Classical Languages and French Literature at the University of Exeter. He spent a year in France taking the specialization course. Back in England, she worked as a researcher at Amnesty International in London. During a train ride between Manchester and King's Cross she started writing Harry Potter. In 1991, she left the position of researcher and moved to Porto, Portugal to teach English, but she did not stop writing. He frequented the famous Livraria Lello, located in the historic center of the city, opened in 1906, where he continued the stories.

After 18 months, she met the Portuguese Jorge Arantes. They were married on October 16, 1992. In July 1993 Jessica was born. In November the couple broke up. In December, Rowling and her daughter move to Edinburgh, Scotland, where her sister lived. At that time, without work, he resorted to social aid. In 1996, the first book in the "Harry Potter" series was completed and titled "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone". After being rejected by several publishers, the work was accepted by the publisher Bloomsbury and published on June 26, 1997. JK also published another book in the saga called «The cursed child» that talks about the son of Harry Potter who after the The book being published was interpreted in a theater version and although many people want the book to come out on film JK has already confirmed several times that it will not come out on film.

Although seven books were published, eight films based on the stories were produced, as the last book was divided into two parts. The first two were directed by Chris Columbus, the third by Alfonso Cuarón, the fourth by Mike Newell and the last four by David Yates.
