Centaur- The Centaur has a head and the upper half of a man's body and the lower half of a horse, which can be of different colors. Intelligent and able to speak, he should not be considered strictly a monster, but, at his request, he was classified in this way by the Minister of Magic. Centaurs live in the forests. They are believed to originate in Greece, although today Centaur communities exist in many locations in Europe. The magical authorities of each country where Centaur´s were found have defined areas where they cannot be disturbed by the Muggles. However, Centaur's have little need for magical protection, as they have their own means of hiding from humans. Centaur's attitudes are shrouded in mystery. They are as suspicious of sorcerers as of Muggles and, in fact, seem to make a little difference between us. They live in herds ranging from ten to fifty members. They are reputed to have great knowledge in healing, divination, shooting with arrows and bow and astronomy.
